ESSN

ESSN's volunteer wish list
September 2005

ESSN has many opportunities for volunteers. These are just a few of the on-going projects where you can make a difference.

Office organization -- Like any activist office the ESSN office could use some reorganization and cleanup.

Newsletter editor -- Our newsletter is one of our most important outreach tools. We could use your writing talent and eye for detail to keep it interesting and effective.

Newsletter mailing party -- Join a core group of ESSN/JwJ volunteers to fold, label and sort newsletters for mailing. It only takes two hours each month and includes a meal.

Phone banking & coordination -- We need a phone bank coordinator for our semiannual fundraising efforts. We also need folks to make the calls inviting members to our Holiday party. It's a fun and rewarding way to spend an evening.

Event planning -- Help us plan our Holiday party or Annual Meeting.

Membership recruitment -- Help us sign up new members by offering to take materials to your union, community group or faith meeting, or helping to arrange for ESSN to visit with your organization.

Phone tree coordinator -- We would love to get our phone tree back up and running. Sometimes email is just not enough. A vibrant phone tree would help us activate even more community support for urgent issues.

Outreach to religious & community groups -- Our Intefaith Alliance for Worker Justice is seeking to include more congregations and faith groups in their work. If you are active in your temple, church or mosque, or part of a community organization interested in economic justice, we could use your help with outreach and recruitment.

Research -- ESSN/JwJ's work on economic development, living wage, and sustainable business development requires research and fact checking. If you have a flair for digging up details, consider lending us a few hours of your time.

Media coordinator -- Help ESSN/JwJ get the word out to the media. We could use help creating a media kit as well as support with press releases and related tasks.

Let us know where you would like to help!
