Take Action Now!!!
The Eugene Payroll tax!!!
Let the People Decide!!!
We only have until July 11th to obtain 7000 signatures to refer the Eugene Payroll Tax to the Voters. We mobilized an solid campaign in just 6 days and have volunteers out gathering signatures but we need more help!!! We need at least twice the number of volunteers we currently have to get this on the ballot!
If you would like to participate drop by our office as 688 Charnelton St. Eugene between 11 am - 5 pm.
Even if you can only get signatures from your family, friends, and coworkers every signature helps!
you can also call us at 541-285-6373
or email us at
We also have a table at the Eugene Library during the weekdays if you just want to sign the petition. We will also have signature gathering training at 11 am, Sundays at Whirled Pies, 8th & Charnelton St. in Eugene.
On Wednesday, June 10th the Eugene City Council became the first City in Oregon to pass a Pay Roll Tax, which taxes employers and the paychecks of workers in Eugene!
We feel this is a regressive tax that continues the trend in Oregon of shifting the tax burden more and more on to home owners, small local businesses, and workers while giving a free ride to the largest corporations.
We understand that we need more funding of essential services but we believe that a payroll tax sets a dangerous precedent and that Eugene voters have the right to decide how they want to fund these vital services, but the City Council voted down a motion to allow this very important issue to go before voters. To that end, ESSN is moving forward with referring The Payroll Tax to the Eugene voters.
