How do you change the world?

Updated: Sep 5, 2021

Megan Phelps-Roper is and example of what we can happen when we listen and treat others with respect even when they infuriate us, when they are saying things that we feel in our bones are wrong. We have lost the art of civil discourse, we allow our frustration, fear, and rage to disarm our intellect and in turn we fall in to the same trap as those we feel are so very wrong.

We have allowed those who rule to divide us. Corporations, corrupt politicians, peddlers of propaganda and hate. They convince us that everything that a person is can be narrowed down to a sound bite or a talking point but that is not how people work. Weather we identify as right or left, conservative or progressive, we are all the working class and we are not as different as they would have us believe.

As long as we refuse to listen, refuse to engage, refuse to see the other as a person deserving of respect we will never change the world.
